Driver arrested on DUI charge in Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE, VT — Vermont State Police arrested a motorist on suspicion of driving under the influence after his vehicle went off the road early Thursday morning.

Police were dispatched at approximately 2:16 a.m. to a report of a vehicle off the roadway on Vermont Route 15 near Putnam Road.

Cambridge EMS responded to the scene and evaluated the operator, suspecting he may be impaired.

Troopers identified the operator as Leighton Green, 28, of Johnson.

While speaking with Green, troopers noticed multiple signs of impairment.

Green was screened and subsequently arrested for suspicion of DUI.

He was transported to the Morristown Police Department for processing.

Green was driving a 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander, which sustained minor front-end damage.

No injuries were reported.

Green was released with a citation to appear in Lamoille County Superior Court on March 4, 2026, at 12:30 p.m.

Road conditions were snowy at the time of the incident.
