MALDEN, MA — A 29-year-old man has been arrested following a months-long investigation into a series of related incidents, police announced.
Malachi Scott, of Waltham, was taken into custody with assistance from the Waltham Police Department, according to the Malden Police Department.
The investigation was led by Detective Stephen Munyon with assistance from Detective David Yung, both from the Criminal Investigations Division.
Police said the allegations were determined to be deliberate and sexual in nature.
No physical injuries were reported, but the incidents caused emotional distress to multiple Malden residents, according to police.
Scott will be arraigned at Malden District Court at a later date.
Police said there is no threat to the public at this time.
The department said earlier disclosure could have interfered with investigative efforts or placed victims and witnesses at risk.
