BELLINGHAM, MA — Two men are facing charges after bomb threats were made against a hospital and transportation hub earlier this month.
John Lee, 42, of Bellingham, was arrested in connection with bomb threats made on Feb. 3.
Bellingham Public Safety Dispatchers received two 911 calls that day reporting bomb threats directed at a hospital and a major transportation hub within Massachusetts.
The information was immediately relayed to the agencies with jurisdiction over those facilities so appropriate safety measures could be implemented.
Through investigative efforts and coordination with the Milford Police Department and the Commonwealth Fusion Center, detectives determined that the calls originated from a cellular device located in Bellingham.
The Milford Police Department obtained search and arrest warrants for a residence in Bellingham based on the investigation.
During the execution of the initial search warrant, detectives observed firearm components and accessories believed to be possessed in violation of Massachusetts law.
Investigators obtained an additional search warrant for the residence based on those observations.
Multiple firearms, partially assembled firearms, and related accessories were recovered as a result of the subsequent search.
Probable cause was established to charge John Lee and Richard Lee, 43, of Bellingham, with firearm-related offenses.
Richard Lee was taken into custody on firearm charges.
John Lee, who was already in custody on bomb threat charges, was summonsed on the additional firearm-related charges.
Both men were arraigned in Milford District Court and are currently being held pending dangerousness hearings.
There is no ongoing threat to the public at this time, according to authorities.
The investigation remains active.
