TRUXTON, NY — A school bus carrying 11 elementary students overturned at the intersection of South Hill Road and Singleton Road on Feb. 9, 2026.
The Homer Central School District bus was on its side when New York State Police from the Homer barracks arrived at approximately 8:35 a.m.
The bus driver and a school bus aide were also on board at the time of the crash.
Three students were transported to Upstate University Hospital, including a 7-year-old girl, a 7-year-old boy and a 9-year-old boy.
The students were treated for two head injuries and a hand injury.
Several other minor injuries were reported, but those students did not require ambulance transport.
The remaining students were transferred to another bus and transported to the Homer School District.
The New York State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit responded to the scene.
TLC Ambulance, Tully Ambulance, Lafayette Ambulance, Truxton Fire, CAVAC Ambulance, CNY Towing and Morey’s Towing assisted at the scene.
Cincinnatus Ambulance was dispatched but canceled prior to arrival.
