SOUTH PORTLAND, ME — Maine State Police arrested a 79-year-old man on a probation violation Monday.
Eliot Cutler of Brooklin was taken into custody at approximately 4:20 p.m. at a hotel in South Portland.
Detectives from the Maine State Police Special Victim’s Unit were conducting separate, unrelated investigative activity at the hotel when they encountered Cutler.
During the interaction, detectives determined Cutler was in violation of the conditions of his probation.
After consulting with Cutler’s probation officer, Cutler was arrested.
He was transported to the Cumberland County Jail, where he is being held on a probation hold.
