DUNMORE, PA — A 47-year-old man died after being shot during a domestic disturbance Saturday night.
Dunmore Police officers responded to 401 Mortimer Street at approximately 8:31 p.m. Feb. 8 for a report of a domestic disturbance.
Officers found Frederick Zantowsky Jr., 47, of Dunmore, with a single gunshot wound.
He was transported to Geisinger CMC where he later died.
The shooter was located at the same address and detained by police for investigation.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigative Division interviewed the shooter, who was cooperative.
The shooter was released from police custody pending further investigation.
Police said they do not believe the public is in danger and believe this to be an isolated incident.
The cause and manner of death have yet to be determined by the Lackawanna County Coroner’s Office.
The investigation is ongoing.
