SHAFTSBURY, VT — Vermont State Police arrested a Bennington man on suspicion of driving under the influence after his vehicle went off the road Thursday night.
Troopers responded to U.S. Route 7 near mile marker 18.6 at approximately 7:29 p.m. after dispatch received a report of a vehicle leaving the roadway.
Police determined the vehicle was driven by Alex Joseph Brown, 21, of Bennington.
No injuries were reported and damage was limited to Brown’s 2016 Jeep Cherokee.
While at the scene, troopers observed indicators of impairment in Brown, according to police.
Brown was arrested and transported to the Shaftsbury barracks for processing.
He was issued a citation and released.
Brown is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court Bennington Criminal Division on Feb. 23 at 8:30 a.m.
