CORTLANDVILLE, NY — New York State Police are investigating after a woman was found dead near railroad tracks on West Road on Nov. 25.
Troopers from the Homer barracks responded to the scene at approximately 9:01 a.m. after receiving a report of a deceased woman.
The victim has been identified as Robin Bowman, 59, of Findlay, Ohio.
Investigators determined Bowman had been living in her vehicle in the Cortlandville area prior to her death.
An autopsy revealed Bowman died from hypothermia caused by exposure to the elements.
The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the New York State Police Forensic Identification Unit, TLC Ambulance, and the Cortland County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene.
