STROUD TOWNSHIP, PA — A 30-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday in connection with a retail theft that occurred last summer at a JCPenney store.
Dajai Shayane Allen, of Throop, was taken into custody by the Throop Borough Police Department at 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 4, 2026.
Allen was transported to the Lackawanna County Jail following her arrest.
Stroud Area Regional Police were dispatched to the JCPenney store in Stroud Township on Aug. 15 at 2:34 p.m. for a report of a retail theft involving two adult females and two juveniles.
Allen was observed taking several clothing items and concealing them into bags with the other females, according to police.
All individuals left the store without paying, depriving JCPenney of $666.92 worth of merchandise, police said.
Loss prevention personnel followed the group out of the store and obtained the registration plate of the vehicle they left in.
The vehicle was registered to Allen, police said.
Allen has two previous convictions for retail theft and was recently arrested in Dickson City for retail theft, according to police.
She was also identified as Dajai Allen by Dickson City Police Department.
Allen is charged with retail theft.
