CORTLANDVILLE, NY — A 56-year-old woman was arrested after authorities say she violated an order of protection while in possession of a controlled substance.
Doris L. Walling, of North Pitcher, was taken into custody at approximately 7:21 p.m. on Feb. 1 following an investigation at a business in the town of Cortlandville, according to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office.
Officers determined Walling was at the business while violating a full stay away order of protection, authorities said.
During her arrest, Walling was found to be in possession of a controlled substance, according to the sheriff’s office.
She was charged with second-degree criminal contempt and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, both misdemeanors.
Walling was processed at the Public Safety Building and arraigned through the Centralized Arraignment Process on Feb. 2 at 10:30 a.m.
She was released on her own recognizance.
Walling is scheduled to appear in Town of Cortlandville Court on Feb. 9 at 11:00 a.m.
