Two arrested on drug charges in Yarmouth

YARMOUTH, MA — Two Dennis residents were arrested Saturday following a traffic stop on Route 28 that led to the seizure of multiple drugs and cash.

An officer observed what appeared to be a hand-to-hand drug transaction at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 31, according to the Yarmouth Police Department.

Officers followed the vehicle that left the area and conducted a traffic stop after it crossed the double yellow center line on Route 28.

Tyler Lawton, 30, of Dennis, and Jillian Evora, 40, of Dennis, were found to be in possession of fentanyl, cocaine and alprazolam, commonly known as Xanax.

Officers seized more than $650 in cash believed to be connected to the offenses.

Lawton was charged with possession of a Class A substance (fentanyl), subsequent offense, and possession with intent to distribute a Class C substance (alprazolam).

Evora was charged with possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance (cocaine).

Both were arraigned Monday in Barnstable District Court.
