Vehicle strikes tree in Barrington

BARRINGTON, NY — A single-vehicle crash sent a teenager to the hospital Thursday afternoon after a car struck a tree on Bill Bailey Road.

The Yates County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene at approximately 4:52 p.m.

David A. Perry, 63, of Dundee, was driving eastbound in winter conditions when he failed to negotiate a turn and struck a tree head-on, according to deputies.

Ashton T. Steele, 15, of Dundee, was transported to Soldiers and Sailors Hospital with right hip pain and non-life-threatening injuries.

A second passenger, Darcey L. Perry, 45, of Dundee, was also in the vehicle.

Deputies T. Lane and N. Fultz investigated the crash.

Dundee Fire Department and Dundee Ambulance assisted at the scene.
