NAZARETH, PA — Police arrested a man on animal cruelty charges after a dog was left outside in cold temperatures for an extended period.
Leslie E. Hamm, 51, of Nazareth, was charged with cruelty to animals and neglect of an animal.
Nazareth Police responded to a report of a dog being left outside in the area of the 100 block of West High Street at 11:23 p.m. on Jan. 23, 2026.
Officers spoke with the reporting party and determined the dog had been left outside in the cold for approximately one hour.
After about 30 minutes, officers were able to get the dog safely into the home.
Further investigation revealed there had been multiple prior calls to the residence regarding the dog being left outside for extended periods.
