DELHI, NY — A 76-year-old man has been charged with harassment following an investigation by the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office.
William Deguisto, of Delhi, was issued a criminal summons on Jan. 31 charging him with one count of harassment in the second degree, a violation of the New York State Penal Law.
Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced the arrest, which stemmed from a harassment complaint reported on Jan. 13 in the Town of Delhi.
An investigation revealed that Deguisto allegedly engaged in conduct that served no legitimate purpose, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies submitted a criminal summons and an order of protection request to the Town of Delhi Court on behalf of the victim on Jan. 22.
The court issued the criminal summons and order of protection on Jan. 29.
Deputies located Deguisto on Jan. 31 and issued him the criminal summons and order of protection.
Deguisto is scheduled to appear in the Town of Delhi Court at a later date to answer the charge.
