Man wanted on theft charge in Phillipsburg

PHILLIPSBURG, NJ — Police are seeking a man wanted on a theft by deception charge.

James A. Patrick, 58, was charged Nov. 19, 2024, according to the Phillipsburg Police Department.

Police said Patrick received a down payment for home improvement work from a victim but never started the work and could not be contacted afterward.

During the investigation, Patrick and the victim agreed to meet at police headquarters for the deposit to be returned, police said.

Patrick did not arrive for the exchange and his last known phone number was changed or disabled, according to police.

Patrick’s whereabouts are currently unknown, but he may be in the Bangor, Pennsylvania, or Nazareth, Pennsylvania, area, police said.

Patrick is described as a white male, 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
