NEWARK, NJ — Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a vehicle connected to an auto burglary that occurred on Monday.
At approximately 1:10 p.m., a male driver parked his 2025 white 4-door Mercedes-Benz GLE at ShopRite, 206 Springfield Avenue.
The victim returned to his car at approximately 2:15 p.m. and observed that his briefcase, containing personal paperwork and business contracts, was missing.
The suspect vehicle is a black SUV, possibly a Honda Accord, with tinted windows.
The car was observed entering the ShopRite parking lot at approximately 1:30 p.m.
The driver parked next to the victim’s vehicle and remained there for some 8 minutes before exiting the parking lot.
