IPSWICH, MA — Two 16-year-old juveniles were arrested Monday evening in connection with an alleged stabbing on Burleigh Avenue.
Ipswich Police responded to the area at approximately 5:55 p.m. Monday for reports of a group of people fighting, with one individual having been stabbed, according to Chief Paul Nikas.
The first officer to arrive on scene located the victim and immediately provided medical aid.
The victim was transported to an area hospital by Action Ambulance for treatment of serious injuries.
Additional units searched the area and located two suspects, both 16-year-old juveniles, who were taken into custody.
One juvenile is being charged with attempted murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a person over 60 and assault with a dangerous weapon.
The second juvenile is being charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a person over 60.
Both juveniles are due to be arraigned in Lawrence Juvenile Court Tuesday.
