DERRY TOWNSHIP, PA — A 68-year-old man was arrested Thursday on charges related to child sex crimes after allegedly attempting to meet with who he believed was a 15-year-old girl.

Marshall Scott Spatz, of Pine Grove, was taken into custody by Internet Crimes Against Children investigators with the Derry Township Police Department, in partnership with the Dauphin County District Attorney’s Office.

Investigators said Spatz had been in communication for several days with an undercover ICAC investigator who was posing as a 15-year-old juvenile female.

Spatz allegedly agreed to pay $150 to meet with who he believed was a juvenile female for sex acts in Derry Township.

He was arrested with the assistance of the United States Marshals Service after showing up to the location that he believed the minor would be.

Spatz had at least $150 in cash on him at the time of his arrest, according to police.

He was charged with promoting prostitution of a minor, criminal use of communication facility and corruption of minors.

Spatz was brought to the Dauphin County Booking Center to be arraigned.
