Man arrested on retail theft charge in Wilkes-Barre Township

WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP, PA — Police arrested a man Friday afternoon after he allegedly stole merchandise from a department store at Wyoming Valley Mall.

Barry Joseph Prandy Jr., 42, of Wilkes-Barre, was taken into custody at 2:36 p.m. at JCPenney.

Police said Prandy stole merchandise from the store and fled into the parking lot, where officers apprehended him.

He is charged with misdemeanor retail theft due to prior convictions.
