PUTNEY, VT — A Connecticut man faces criminal charges after allegedly driving more than 100 mph on Interstate 91.
Glenn C. Gavitt, 63, of North Stonington, Connecticut, was stopped at approximately 12:15 p.m. Saturday after his vehicle was observed traveling 102 mph in a 65 mph zone, according to Vermont State Police.
Gavitt was charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle and excessive speed.
He was released from the scene on a citation to appear in Windham Superior Court, Criminal Division, on May 26.
Gavitt was also issued a traffic ticket for the civil speeding violation.
