Man arrested on motor vehicle theft charge in Lakewood

LAKEWOOD, NJ — A Freehold man has been arrested in connection with the theft of a vehicle that was left running in a parking lot.

Officer Tymur Zavalnyuk responded to the area of 166 Main Street on Jan. 25, 2026, for a reported motor vehicle theft.

The victim reported that a 2002 Toyota Camry had been parked in the lot and left running.

When he returned shortly after, the vehicle was missing.

Surveillance footage documented the theft, and the vehicle was entered into NCIC as stolen.

On Jan. 27, 2026, the vehicle was located unoccupied in Freehold.

A follow-up investigation conducted by Detective Donnelly and members of the Freehold Police Department led to the identification and arrest of Sioni Farrell, 29, of Freehold.

Farrell was charged with theft of a motor vehicle.
