Man arrested on DUI charge in Berlin

BERLIN, VT — A Shelburne man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 89 South early Saturday morning.

Troopers responded to the crash at approximately 1:02 a.m. on Jan. 31, 2026.

Upon arrival, troopers identified the operator of the vehicle as Erik Raymond, 50, of Shelburne.

Troopers observed signs of impairment and subsequently arrested Raymond for suspicion of DUI.

Raymond was driving a 2022 Mazda CX-5, which was totaled in the crash.

No injuries were reported.

Raymond was processed at the Berlin Barracks and later released with a citation to appear in Washington County Superior Court, Criminal Division on Feb. 19, 2026 at 12:30 p.m.

Weather conditions were clear and road conditions were dry at the time of the incident.
