SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Police arrested a 19-year-old man on an active warrant Thursday in connection with an armed robbery at a Target parking lot last month.
Charles N. Woodall, of East Hartford, was taken into custody at 10 a.m. Thursday, according to the South Windsor Police Department.
The charges stem from a December incident at the Target parking lot at 125 Buckland Hills Drive, where police say Woodall pointed a firearm at a victim during an item exchange that had been arranged through social media.
The victim lost both his merchandise, a pair of shoes, and his money during the encounter, police said.
Woodall faces charges of carrying a pistol without a permit, first-degree robbery, criminal use of a weapon and three counts of first-degree reckless endangerment.
He was processed at Manchester Superior Court, where he was already in custody on charges from another jurisdiction.
Woodall was held on a $250,000 court-set bond and appeared in court Thursday.
In a separate incident, police arrested Thomas A. Phillips, 86, of South Windsor, at 4:17 p.m. Thursday on a disorderly conduct charge.
Officers responded to a local nursing home where a man and woman were reported to be fighting.
An investigation determined that Phillips grabbed the victim by the neck and struck her, police said.
Phillips was issued a misdemeanor summons and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court at 9 a.m. Friday.
