SAND LAKE, NY — State Police arrested a Troy man on Jan. 28, 2026, in connection with a home invasion that occurred three days earlier.

Benjamin J. Troopers responded to a home in Sand Lake at about 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 25, 2026, for a report of a home invasion.

The investigation determined Cramer traveled to the home of an individual known to him uninvited and forcibly entered the residence, causing damage to multiple locked doors.

Once inside the residence, Cramer allegedly struck the victim numerous times, causing significant injuries, and pushed another victim.

The incident occurred while a child under the age of 16 was present.

The child was not injured.

One victim was transported to Albany Medical Center for further medical evaluation and treatment and has since been released.

Cramer fled the location before law enforcement arrived, leading to a search of the area that did not locate him.

Cramer surrendered himself to State Police in Schodack on Jan. 28, 2026, where he was arrested and processed.

He was arraigned at the Brunswick Town Court, where he was remanded to the Rensselaer County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 cash, $50,000 bond or a $150,000 partially secured bond.

  1. Sand Lake is pretty close to home. What is wrong with some people?? A lot of these criminals SHOULD go to jail for a LONG time – with NO bail – perhaps that would send a message. Our judicial system has been to lenient for to long. Time to get tough on criminals again.
