Woman charged with assault in Plattsburgh

PLATTSBURGH, NY — State Police have charged a woman with assault following a stabbing on Dormitory Drive on Sunday.

Latasha Lord, 32, of Plattsburgh, was charged with assault in the 2nd degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the 3rd degree.

Troopers responded to Dormitory Drive at approximately 10:26 a.m. for a reported stabbing.

An investigation determined that Lord and the victim were involved in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation.

Police said Lord produced a knife and stabbed the victim in the right hand and left side of the chest.

The victim was transported to Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Lord was arrested and transported to State Police Plattsburgh for processing.

She was arraigned in the Town of Plattsburgh Court and remanded to the Clinton County Jail.
