Nine arrested on criminal trespass charges in Portland

PORTLAND, ME — Nine people were arrested on criminal trespass charges Tuesday at a protest in a downtown office building.

Portland Police responded to Senator Collins’ office on the eighth floor of One Canal Plaza at 1:03 p.m. for a report of approximately 50 people protesting.

The group was repeatedly told if they did not disperse, individuals would be charged with criminal trespass.

After several warnings, many of the protesters left the building, while nine remained and asked to be arrested.

The following individuals were arrested, charged with criminal trespass and transported to the Cumberland County Jail: Norman Allen, 65, of Portland; Christine Dyke, 60, of Gorham; Will Green, 44, of Peaks Island; Robert Lerin, 51; Annemarie Morse, 28, of Lewiston; Eric Nathanson, 31, of Scarborough; Jasa Porciello, 51, of Portland; Allison Smith, 55, of S. Harpswell; and Doratha Yunger, 55, of Newcastle.

Investigators are urging anyone who has any information that might assist in this or any other case to call them at 207-874-8575.
