Woman arrested on stolen property charge in Groveland

GROVELAND, NY — A Dansville woman faces a felony charge after authorities say she was found driving a stolen vehicle.

Lisa Andersen, 51, of Dansville, was arrested Jan. 26 and charged with felony Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Third Degree.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to 26 East State Street in the Village of Mount Morris to assist the Mount Morris Police Department with a report of a stolen vehicle.

During the investigation, Sheriff’s Deputy Cosmo Giunta located the vehicle on Abele Road in the Town of Groveland.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop and detained Andersen, who was the sole operator of the vehicle.

Andersen was transported to the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention.

She was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Geneseo Justice Houston.

The judge released Andersen on her own recognizance as the offense does not qualify for bail under the New York State Bail Reform Act.

The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office represented Andersen at the arraignment.

The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office represented the People.

Assisting with the investigation were members of the Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division and Forensic Identification Unit, the Mount Morris Police Department, New York State Police and the New York State Park Police.
