NEW BERLIN, NY — A 45-year-old woman was arrested on a felony charge after a traffic stop in the town.
Virginia S. Place, of New Berlin, was taken into custody by the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office on Jan. 26, 2026.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a vehicle and traffic law offense in the town.
During the investigation, deputies found that Place had a suspended non-driver ID only, with 10 different suspensions on five different dates.
Place was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree, a traffic felony, and operating an un-inspected motor vehicle, a traffic infraction.
She was released on an appearance ticket.
