ROCKLAND, ME — Police arrested a man on a felony drug trafficking charge following the execution of a search warrant Thursday.

Rockland Police executed the search warrant in the city’s south end on Jan. 23 as part of a month-long investigation into drug trafficking.

Officers recovered approximately 40 grams of crack cocaine during the search.

Jason Viorla, 40, of Bangor, was arrested and charged with aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs.

The charge is aggravated due in part to a prior conviction for trafficking, according to police.

Viorla also has suspected ties to North Carolina and New York, police said.

Additional arrests related to the investigation are expected.

Police said they often receive information and complaints from citizens regarding locations suspected to be involved in drug trafficking.
