MOREAU, NY — A Fort Edward man faces drunken driving charges after allegedly running a stop sign and leading deputies on a brief pursuit early Saturday.
Philip D. Joseph, 40, of Fort Edward, was arrested at 3:46 a.m. on Hudson Falls Road following a traffic stop, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies initially attempted to stop Joseph’s vehicle after he failed to stop at a stop sign.
Joseph allegedly failed to comply with the officer’s direction to stop, leading to a short pursuit that ended when he stopped his car on his own.
An investigation led to Joseph’s arrest on charges of driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or greater, both unclassified misdemeanors.
Joseph is accused of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and with a blood alcohol content of 0.14%.
He was also charged with failing to stop at a stop sign and failing to obey a police officer, both infractions.
Joseph was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Moreau Town Court.
