MINISINK, NY — Troopers from the State Police Greenville barracks in Orange County responded to a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision at the intersection of State Route 284 and County Road 22 on January 23, 2026, at approximately 2:55 p.m.
A preliminary investigation determined that a 2014 Jeep was traveling northbound on State Route 284 when it crossed into the southbound lane and struck a 2018 Western Star tri-axle dump truck head-on.
The Jeep was operated and solely occupied by Joshua R. Stevens, 25, of Westtown.
Stevens succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The operator of the dump truck, identified as Michael Fasce, 38, of Wurtsboro, was not injured.
The investigation remains ongoing.
