BRIDGEPORT, PA — A Norristown woman has been arrested in connection with the theft of more than $40,000 worth of jewelry from a residence.

Ashley Louise Fisher, 37, of Norristown, was arrested following an investigation into items reported stolen while a cleaning company was working at the victim’s home.

The victim reported finding drawers ajar and discovering jewelry missing after Crisp Cleaners had performed services at the residence.

Investigators spoke with Fisher, who initially denied involvement in the theft.

A search of pawn sales transaction databases revealed Fisher had pawned items in Philadelphia, including at least two of the reported stolen items.

A fingerprint taken at the point of sale matched Fisher, according to police.

Fisher later admitted to committing the crime, police said.

Fisher was charged with theft by unlawful taking or disposition, a felony of the third degree, and receiving stolen property, a felony of the third degree.

She was arraigned Tuesday by Magisterial District Judge Thomas Murt.

Fisher is being held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in Eagleville on a detainer from Pennsylvania State Probation.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 4 at 12 p.m. at Magisterial District Court 38-1-25.
