RAY BROOK, NY — New York State Police have charged a Jay man with public lewdness following an incident at a swimming area last summer.
Spencer A. Morrissey, 52, of Jay, was charged Jan. 22, 2026, with public lewdness.
On Aug. 18, 2025, troopers were informed of an incident that occurred at the Hull Falls Road swimming area in the town of Keene.
While two individuals were swimming, they observed a white male wearing a blue coat intentionally exposing himself and engaging in a lewd act while watching them swim.
The male was standing on rocks bordering the south shore of the water.
Once he was noticed, he quickly left the area in a gray 2021 Nissan.
An investigation determined Morrissey was responsible for the actions.
Morrissey was arrested and processed at State Police Ray Brook.
He was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Keene Court for a later date in February.
