LINDEN, NJ — A pedestrian was struck and killed by an SUV on E. Edgar Road.
Officers responded to the 2500 block of E. Edgar Road on reports of a serious motor vehicle crash shortly before 8 p.m. Thursday.
Initial reports indicate that a 2019 Dodge SUV was traveling northbound on Route 1 when it struck a 63-year-old man as he crossed the street.
The pedestrian suffered serious injuries in the crash.
He was treated on scene and transported to Newark University Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The driver of the SUV was not injured.
This crash remains under investigation by the Linden Police Traffic Bureau.
