LAKEWOOD, NJ — A man was charged with criminal mischief after allegedly shattering a glass door at the Motor Vehicle Commission on Friday.
Officers responded to the Motor Vehicle Commission on State Highway 70 at approximately 10:45 a.m. for a report of property damage.
An investigation revealed that Mingo Kersey Jr., 57, of Asbury Park, became upset after being denied vehicle registration due to improper documentation.
As he exited the building, Kersey forcefully struck the front entrance door, shattering the glass, according to police.
Damage is estimated at approximately $1,500.
The initial investigation was handled by Officer Bowers.
