DAVENPORT, NY — A man was arrested Monday after allegedly violating an order of protection shortly after it was served to him, according to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Craig DuMond announced the arrest of Jesse Emmett, 33, of Davenport.
Sheriff’s deputies served Emmett with a Delaware County Family Court order of protection on Jan. 20, 2026, which prohibited him from committing specified conduct as outlined in the order.
Shortly after deputies served and explained the provisions of the order to Emmett, they were contacted by the protected party who reported the order was being violated during an active domestic incident.
Deputies returned to the scene and determined the order of protection had been violated.
Emmett was charged with one count of harassment in the second degree, a violation, and one count of criminal contempt in the second degree, a Class A misdemeanor.
He was processed on the charges and turned over to the Delaware County Correctional Facility for arraignment at Centralized Arraignment Processing Court.
