VALLEY STREAM, NY — The Valley Stream Volunteer Fire Department responded to a house fire at the intersection of Roosevelt Avenue and Elmwood Street just before noon.
Chief Anthony Capone arrived to find fire venting from third-floor windows.
A Signal 10, indicating a working fire, was transmitted to request mutual aid from surrounding departments.
Engine 343 and Tower Ladder 345 were first due to the scene.
Firefighters stretched hose lines, conducted searches and extinguished the blaze.
Extensive overhaul was required following the fire suppression.
No injuries were reported.
The Nassau County Fire Marshals Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
