BOSTON, MA — A Dorchester man faces multiple drug charges following an investigation in the Mass and Cass area on Saturday.
Officers assigned to the citywide Neighborhood Engagement Safety Team conducted an on-site drug investigation in the area of Massachusetts Avenue and Albany Street at approximately 12 p.m.
While patrolling the area, officers observed behavior consistent with street-level narcotics activity and witnessed what appeared to be hand-to-hand exchanges between two individuals.
Officers made contact with a female who discarded a small plastic bag containing a white rock-like substance.
The individual was identified and later summonsed to Roxbury District Court for possession of a Class B substance.
Officers continued monitoring a male suspect, who was observed engaging in additional suspected drug activity with another individual.
Based on the observations and information relayed to responding units, officers located the suspect inside a nearby business and placed him under arrest without incident.
After his arrest, officers recovered three medium plastic bags of fentanyl totaling approximately 10 grams, twenty-four small plastic bags of crack cocaine totaling approximately 7 grams, eight medium plastic bags of marijuana totaling approximately 19 grams, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.
The arrested individual was identified as Trahern Combs, 55, of Dorchester.
He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court for trafficking in fentanyl (more than 10 grams), possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance, distribution of a Class B substance, and possession with intent to distribute a Class D substance.
