RYEGATE, VT — Vermont State Police arrested a man on domestic assault charges Sunday afternoon.
Troopers responded to a report of a domestic assault on Pleasant Street at approximately 2:39 p.m. on Jan. 19, 2026.
An investigation revealed Carl Jackson Jr., 38, of Ryegate, had assaulted another individual, police said.
The assault occurred in the presence of a child, according to police.
Jackson was taken into custody without incident.
He was later lodged at the Northeast Regional Correction Complex in St. Johnsbury on $200 bail.
