Woman arrested on aggravated DUI charge in Pelham

PELHAM, NH — A Litchfield woman was arrested early Saturday after crashing her vehicle down an embankment.

At 12:48 a.m. on Jan. 18, Patrolman Clark made contact with a woman walking on Hobbs Road, later identified as Hailey Clarke, 22, of Litchfield.

Clarke told officers she had crashed her vehicle somewhere on Windham Road.

Officers checked the area and found a blue Subaru Outback several feet off the roadway and down an embankment near the intersection of Windham Road and Hayden Road.

Clarke was identified as the driver of the vehicle.

She sustained minor injuries and was evaluated by the Pelham Fire Department.

Officers determined the Subaru Outback was traveling east on Hayden Road and continued to drive straight as it approached the stop sign at the intersection of Hayden Road and Windham Road.

The vehicle traveled off the roadway on Windham Road and down an embankment as a result.

Clarke was arrested on charges of aggravated driving under the influence, reckless operation and open container.

She was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to be arraigned at Salem District Court on Jan. 26 at 8 a.m.
