SAYREVILLE, NJ — Two suspects robbed a gas station attendant Friday night after spraying him with pepper spray, police said.
The robbery occurred at 8:44 p.m. at the Delta Gas Station on Main Street near River Road.
Two suspects dressed in dark clothing approached the attendant and sprayed him with pepper spray before stealing cash in his possession, according to the Sayreville Police Department.
The suspects fled on foot toward Hillside Avenue.
Patrol officers responded and searched the area but did not locate the suspects.
Police are asking residents and businesses in the area to review security camera footage from between 8:15 p.m. and 9 p.m.
