NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI — A motor vehicle stop on Devils Foot Road led to the arrest of a woman wanted on two outstanding warrants.
Jdaniz Jordan, 22, of East Providence, was arrested at 3:50 p.m. on a Third District Court bench warrant for failure to appear for arraignment on an original charge of forgery and counterfeiting, originating out of the North Providence Police Department.
Jordan was also arrested on a Sixth District Court bench warrant for a probation violation on an original charge of receiving stolen goods under $1,500, originating out of the Pawtucket Police Department.
She was transported to the State Police Wickford Barracks where she was processed and later turned over to the Adult Corrections Institution Women’s Intake Center.
In a separate incident at 6:38 p.m., troopers arrested Osmara Cerrato Calderon, 33, of Cranston, at the Wickford Barracks after she turned herself in.
Cerrato Calderon was charged with obtaining property by false pretenses/personation over $10,000 ($86,599.87), false statement to obtain replacement public assistance, providing false document to public official, fraudulently obtaining public assistance, and fraudulent use of food stamps.
The arrest was the result of a barracks investigation.
She was processed, arraigned by a justice of the peace and released with a future court date.
At 10:34 p.m., troopers arrested James Balzano, 37, of Branford, Connecticut, following a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in Warwick.
Balzano was charged with driving under the influence of liquor, BAC unknown, first offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test, first offense.
He was transported to the State Police Wickford Barracks, where he was processed, arraigned by a justice of the peace and later released into the custody of a responsible adult with a future Third District Court date.
