SALEM, MA — A police officer was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene Thursday night while she was conducting a criminal investigation.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Pope Street.
The officer, who was conscious and alert, was immediately transported to Salem Hospital for evaluation and treatment of her injuries.
The driver fled the scene after striking the officer.
The incident remains under investigation.
