Drug arrest made in Boston

BOSTON, MA — A Brockton man was arrested on multiple drug-related charges following the execution of search warrants on Tuesday.

John Britt, 61, of Brockton, was taken into custody by officers assigned to the Drug Control Units of District C-6 (South Boston), E-13 (Jamaica Plain), and the Massachusetts State Police CINRET.

Detectives obtained search warrants for Britt’s person, a location in Brockton, and his vehicle.

Officers observed Britt operating a motor vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in the area of Lambert Avenue and Bartlett Street.

Britt was removed from the vehicle and advised of the search warrants.

A female passenger was also removed from the vehicle.

During the search of Britt’s person and a motor vehicle inventory search, officers recovered a plastic bag of crack cocaine, loose crack cocaine, and a digital scale.

Britt was placed under arrest and the female was summonsed for Possession of Class A.

Officers then conducted the search warrant at 106 Battles Street in Brockton.

Officers recovered a Jennings Model 9 with seven rounds in the magazine, three rounds of .38 ammunition, 586 grams of cocaine, digital scales, a drug ledger, and approximately $22,039 in U.S. currency.

John Britt is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court for Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B and Distribution of Class B.

He will also be charged with Trafficking of Cocaine out of Brockton District Court.

Jarad Britt, 35, of Brockton, turned himself in to Brockton District Court on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026.

Britt was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Ammunition without an FID card, and Trafficking of Cocaine, 200 grams or more.
