JACKSON, NY — State Police arrested a Vermont man on burglary and other charges Jan. 13.
Tyler D. Galipeau, 44, of Bennington, was charged with second-degree burglary, fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and resisting arrest.
Troopers responded to a report of an active burglary at a home in Jackson at about 6:34 a.m.
Troopers arrived at the house and determined it was empty.
A search of the area located Galipeau hiding in the woods nearby alongside State Route 22.
He initially resisted arrest but was taken into custody.
The investigation determined that Galipeau allegedly entered the unoccupied home, took an item from within and then fled the location on foot.
The stolen item was recovered from Galipeau upon his arrest.
Galipeau was transported to State Police Greenwich for processing.
He was then transported to the Washington County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
