DORCHESTER, MA — A 22-year-old man was arrested on multiple firearm violations after officers recovered a ghost gun during a pat frisk on Tuesday.
Members of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Zayvion Guity, of Milton, in the area of 11B Allstate Road.
Detectives assigned to District C-11 had disseminated an image of an individual who brandished a firearm and began conducting a firearm investigation.
Officers observed a suspect matching the description and exited their cruiser to approach him.
As officers attempted to conduct a pat frisk, the suspect hunched his body forward and fell to the ground.
During the encounter, officers felt what they believed to be a firearm as the suspect continued reaching toward his midsection.
Officers repeatedly ordered the suspect to place his hands behind his back, but he continued to resist.
Multiple officers assisted in placing the suspect in handcuffs and observed a fanny pack concealed beneath the suspect’s jacket.
A firearm was recovered from the fanny pack and was determined to be a ghost gun with a 15-round magazine.
The firearm was also equipped with a flashlight and laser attachment.
Guity is expected to be arraigned in South Boston District Court on charges of carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without an FID card and possession of a large capacity feeding device.
