Man arrested on drug charges in Wantagh

WANTAGH, NY — A 53-year-old man was arrested on multiple drug charges following a search of his residence on Jan. 7.

Daniel Posner, of Wantagh, was taken into custody at 9:44 a.m. at a home on Darby Road, according to Nassau County Police.

The Nassau County Probation Department and Nassau County Police Department conducted an investigation at the residence.

During the search, officers recovered approximately 85 grams of what is believed to be crystal methamphetamine, 15 grams of a substance believed to be ketamine, and various quantities of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB) and alprazolam, police said.

Methamphetamine paraphernalia was also recovered inside the home.

Posner was arrested at the scene without incident.

The Town of Hempstead Buildings Department secured the residence and property.

Posner was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and eight counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
