WORCESTER, MA — A 20-year-old man faces multiple firearms charges after police discovered an untraceable gun in his possession following a moped crash.
Worcester Police officers responded to Chandler Street at approximately 7:06 p.m. on Jan. 10 for a report of an accident with injury.
Officers found a male lying in the road near a moped with debris scattered around the scene.
The man was placed in an ambulance for treatment.
Officers were later given a cross-body bag that had been removed from the man while he was in the ambulance.
Inside the bag, officers found a firearm that was determined to be untraceable with no serial number.
An investigation revealed the man does not have a license to carry a firearm.
Kayo Nascimento, of Worcester, is charged with carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, improper storage of a firearm, carrying ammunition without an FID card, and defacing the serial number of a firearm.
