BOSTON, MA — Members of the District C-11 Drug Control Unit executed a search warrant at a Dorchester residence Friday as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., officers observed a suspect exit 191 Talbot Avenue and stand near the intersection of Talbot Avenue and Bernard Street.
A motor vehicle arrived shortly thereafter, and the individual entered the passenger seat.
Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop and took the individual into custody without incident.
Officers then executed the search warrant at the residence.
A protective sweep located two individuals inside, who were advised of the search warrant.
During the search, officers recovered a loaded Protec .25 caliber semi-automatic pistol along with additional ammunition from a bag near a bedroom dresser.
Officers also recovered a large bag and additional smaller bags containing a brown powdery substance believed to be fentanyl, as well as multiple individually packaged bags of crack cocaine.
The narcotics were found concealed inside footwear and other containers within the bedroom.
Officers additionally recovered digital scales, drug packaging materials, and multiple forms of identification belonging to the suspect.
An undisclosed amount of U.S. currency, including several thousand dollars in various denominations, was also recovered.
Andy Alcantara-Beltre, 33, of Dorchester, was arrested and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, trafficking in a Class A substance, and possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance.
The District B-2 and District B-3 Drug Control Units assisted in the operation.
