COLESVILLE, NY — A Windsor man faces drunken driving charges after crashing into a parked boat early Monday morning.
Mathew P. O’Neill, 40, of Windsor, was charged with driving while intoxicated and multiple traffic violations following the accident on Route 79.
Deputies from the Broome County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene at approximately 12:46 a.m. Jan. 5.
Responding deputies found a Ford Expedition smashed under a boat, with the rear of the boat pressed directly against the structure of a residence.
The investigation revealed that the Expedition had left the roadway and struck the parked boat, which collided with a residence and a tow truck parked nearby.
O’Neill displayed several signs that led law enforcement to suspect intoxication, according to the sheriff’s office.
Following standardized field sobriety testing, O’Neill was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.
No injuries were reported as a result of the accident.
